Miss Hamster’s Happiness
Miss Hamster had lived in the little town for a long time.
Over time, she began to feel a little bored.
“Maybe I should try living somewhere else,” she thought.
And just like that, she made a decision.
“I’m going to move.”
Letting Go of the Old
But moving was not simple.
She looked around her home. There were so many little things, each filled with memories.
“I can’t take everything with me,” she sighed.
“Maybe I should sort them out and give them to my friends as keepsakes.”
Memories in Every Corner
On the bedside table, there was a photo frame.
Inside was a picture of her and Little Red-Tail Squirrel, standing in the woods behind her house.
The leaves rustled softly in the wind, and golden sunlight wrapped around them as they hugged and laughed together.
“This photo should go to Squirrel,” Miss Hamster said softly, placing a label on it.
On the sofa lay a soft cotton cushion.
She and Little Rabbit had designed it together.
The star shape was Rabbit’s favorite. The cotton inside was gathered during harvest season when they worked side by side in the fields.
They had sewn it carefully, stitch by stitch, then dried it under the sun until it became fluffy and fragrant.
“This belongs to Rabbit,” she whispered, smiling as she added a label.
On the dining table stood a handmade vase filled with colorful wildflowers.
Looking closely, she saw two smiling faces painted on it.
One big face of Little Bear, and one small face of herself, pressed close together.
They looked so happy.
“Dear Bear… I will miss you,” she said quietly, placing another label.
A Change of Heart
Suddenly, Miss Hamster felt something heavy in her chest.
A warm, bittersweet feeling.
She looked out the window.
The sunlight was bright, and the garden was full of blooming flowers.
Red hyacinths, yellow dandelions, purple lavender…
These flowers had been planted together with Little Badger, Little Fox, and Little Hedgehog.
Just the scent of them brought back memories of a joyful afternoon filled with laughter.
The Realization
She paused.
“These memories… aren’t they precious?”
“There are so many beautiful moments here.”
“Then… why do I want to leave?”
Choosing Happiness
One by one, Miss Hamster removed the labels she had placed on her belongings.
She looked around her home again.
This time, everything felt different.
Warmer.
Fuller.
More meaningful.
She smiled.
A quiet, peaceful smile.
