The Snow Child and His Father - Bedtime Story

A touching moral story for kids about love, separation, and family bonds between a snow child and his father.

The Snow Child and His Father - Bedtime Story

The Snow Child and His Father

On a quiet snowy field stood two snow figures side by side, very close to each other.

The smaller one was a snow child. He had a bright red bead for a nose and wore a warm red scarf around his neck.

Beside him stood his father, a tall snowman with a large carrot nose.

The cold wind blew fiercely, and snow kept falling. Soon, both of them were covered in thick white layers. But they did not feel cold at all. Being together filled them with warmth.

As the snow continued to fall, the child grew bigger, and the father grew rounder. They leaned close to each other, happily chatting in soft voices that no one could hear, not even the wind.

Gradually, the wind slowed, and the snow stopped. Winter was ending, and spring was approaching.

The weather became warmer.

The snow child and his father began to melt.

Water dripped from their bodies and flowed onto the ground.

Slowly, they became smaller and thinner. They were no longer able to stay close as before. They stood apart again.

They looked at each other, wishing they could stay together, but they could not move.

The water that flowed down was not just melting snow, but also their silent tears.

No one noticed them.

The willow trees began to bud. Grass pushed through the soil. Life returned everywhere.

But no one paid attention to the snow child and his father, who were quietly disappearing.

One day, a beautiful fairy came and stood before them. She could hear their voices.

“Father, are we leaving this world?” the child asked.

“No,” the father replied gently. “We will become water, flow into rivers and oceans, then rise into the sky as clouds. When winter returns, we will fall again as snow.”

“Will we be separated?”

“Maybe… but wherever you are, I will always think of you.”

“I don’t want to be apart from you…” the child cried.

The flowing water grew faster, like a small stream.

The fairy’s eyes turned red with emotion.

“I can help you,” she said softly. “I have a small freezer at home. You can stay there and not melt.”

“What about my father?”

“I’m afraid… I cannot take both of you.”

“Then I won’t go. I will stay with my father.”

His voice was firm and unwavering.

Even his father could not change his mind.

The fairy had no choice but to leave.

Spring came fully. Grass sprouted, and golden sunlight danced on the branches.

But the snow child and his father became smaller and weaker, unable even to speak.

The next morning, the fairy returned.

“Are you alright?” she asked with concern.

The child could no longer answer.

“I… am fine,” the father said weakly. “Please… take my child with you…”

The fairy nodded and reached out.

Then suddenly, her eyes lit up.

“I have an idea!”

She gently placed the snow child onto his father’s back and lifted them both together.

They had become small enough to fit.

Now, both of them could stay together inside the freezer.

And this time… they would never be separated again.

Moral of the Story

The moral of the story is:

Love means choosing to stay together, even in the face of change and loss.

Why This Matters

This is one of the most emotional moral stories for kids and family stories.

It teaches:

  • The deep bond between parent and child
  • The meaning of love and sacrifice
  • Emotional resilience during change

As a bedtime story with morals and a healing story, it gently reminds us that true love never disappears, even when everything else changes.
